How to build powerful daily habits using streaks

One of the most simple habit-shaping tricks you can use is Streaks. Streaks help build momentum and show progress compared to the “old” you.

  • Choose the daily habit you’d like to adopt

  • Use a journal or habit tracker to track it

  • Aim for improving that streak day by day

The aim is to keep the chain going as long as possible. If you break, aim to beat your previous streak by one.

In the spirit of streaks, here are four S’s of longevity that help you identify if you’re really on track towards your longevity goals:

  • Sleep - as a standard, aim for 8-9 hours per night

  • Steps - getting 10k steps a day has proven health benefits

  • Stimulants - Regulate or eliminate caffeine, alcohol and other stimulants from your diet

  • Stress - Aim to reduce or maintain low levels of daily stress

A challenge for you, pick one, define the goal and see how long you can make your streak last for!
